Yessi Ortiz

Army Veteran, Yecenia "Yessi" Ortiz, from Chicago Illinois, graduated from Morton West Highschool. After graduation they joined the U.S. Army as a Petroleum Supply Specialist. Adjusting away from military life after service was a struggle, but with the right resources, Yessi continues, with great confidence, to overcome major depression.

Finding the Dog Tag Fellowship Program has brought them hope to explore their passion for entrepreneurship and innovation by bringing communities together through the food industry. With the fellowship program, Yessi hopes to continue supporting U.S. troops after service, and continue growing and sharing meaningful opportunities and relationships with local communities.

Yessi's favorite baked good is a chocolate chip cookie brownie topped off with vanilla ice cream!
