Vonetta Garcia

Vonetta Garcia was born in Philadelphia and raised in Voorhees, New Jersey, and she enlisted in the U.S Navy after graduating Eastern Regional High. In 2009 she earned her Child Development associate’s degree from Columbus Technical College in Columbus, GA and is currently attending American InterContinental University for her BBA with a specialization in marketing. 

Vonetta proudly served as an administrative cryptologic technician for 6.5 years on active duty in Okinawa, Japan and San Antonio, TX. After separating from the military, she worked in retail and hospitality management. In 2009, she became an Army veteran spouse and focused on raising her stepson while working in early childhood education for ten years. In 2016, Vonetta moved to the DMV area and accepted her call to ministry.    

Vonetta was introduced to Dog Tag through alumna Monifa Caines and hopes to gain knowledge about entrepreneurship and other business opportunities.

Vonetta’s favorite baked good is a 7-Up pound cake.
