Air Force Veteran
Randy Andersen
Randy Andersen was born and raised in the greater Chicago area. He later earned an Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering bachelor’s degree from Purdue and an MBA from Webster University. He is a newly retired officer from the United States Air Force where he served most of his career as an acquisition officer developing new weapon systems for our joint service members. He also served career broadening assignments in both aircraft maintenance and as a staff officer in the Pentagon.
Randy first heard about Dog Tag through a conversation with a representative from the Department of Veterans Affairs. He then learned that a friend had also gone through the program as a cohort member, and he was instantly intrigued.
He hopes that Dog Tag will serve as a bridge for his transition from the military into his new role as an entrepreneur back in civilian life. He hopes that Dog Tag’s holistic approach will teach him: 1. Big Picture: The all-inclusive requirements needed to run a small business. 2. Detailed Picture: The hands-on real-world skills to do so. 3. Networking: How to find quality mission partners.
His favorite baked good is a Polish-style kolachky, a family staple for the holidays.
