Meet Raquel Symone: Air Force Veteran, Business Owner, Animated Entertainer and Proud Mom of 2 Amazing Children. Raquel Symone, formerly known as Rachel Simmons, is a Chicago native who has established a reputation for herself in the wellness, beauty and entertainment industry. She is not only a licensed electrologist in both Florida and Illinois, but also a successful businesswoman and the founder of Take it Off! - a specialized laser beauty spa that focuses on providing permanent solutions for uncontrollable skin problems, and Simmons Business & Trade School (SBTS) - an educational extension of the spa. Raquel has a unique history of using music and service to help others look and feel their best. Her alter ego, DJ Rock Hell, is widely sought after for her extraordinary karaoke platform to entertain troops, high school students and seniors. With every endeavor, she remains consistent in bringing about laughter, love and healing to each industry.

Raquel's passion for beauty and entertainment began in high school, and after graduation, she joined the Air Force. There, she was responsible for creating and promoting morale-boosting events for troops stationed both domestically and abroad. Raquel’s tenure in the military has taken her to Japan, Korea, Germany, & Guam.

Her personal motto: "Beauty is my duty, Music is my passion, and Veterans are my lifestyle," speaks to a life-long commitment of service before self, and is why peers and clients affectionately call her a "Rock Star". Raquel is excited to join the 2024 Dog Tag Inc. cohort to connect with other likeminded peers and learn effective entrepreneur tools. Her goal is to eventually franchise her beauty business model and expand her trade school programs to high school curriculums and military veterans nationwide. Raquel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing & Business Management from Governors State University and an Associate of Arts from Kennedy King College.
