Army Veteran

Oluwatoyin Hines

Oluwatoyin Olabisi (Toyin) is a multidisciplinary artist, veteran, and mental health advocate whose work explores the intersections of identity, trauma, and healing. Drawing on personal and collective narratives of military service, her mixed media assemblages blend found materials, textiles, and symbolic imagery to illuminate the unseen emotional landscapes of reintegration and recovery.

Rooted in both storytelling and social reflection, Toyin’s art challenges viewers to witness the complexity of resilience — where beauty and pain coexist. Through community workshops and creative healing spaces, she invites others to transform their own stories into expressions of restoration and strength.

Her practice stands as both testimony and invitation: to remember, to rebuild, and to reimagine wholeness through art.
