Cornbread Casserole.

Olga was born in Colombia, South America and came to the U.S. twenty years ago. She received much of her education in her country and earned a GED from FTCC, NC and took some college classes in the U.S.

Olga started working at an incredibly young age and moved out of her mother’s home at the age of 15. She was a second child of 6 kids at that time and had to work to help the family. When an opportunity was presented to her to learn English and work as a nanny for a military family, she sold her restaurant and resigned her real estate job to come here for one year.  After a few years she started her own cleaning business and helped other women going through some of the same difficulties as she did being a single parent.

In 2009 Olga met a military Army soldier and got married fourteen months later. Since then she has become a part of military life, something that despite not being easy, she has done with love, loyalty, compassion and understanding. Olga sees the best in others and is always looking for opportunities to better herself and the opportunity to help others. She heard about the Dog Tag Fellowship Program from one of her husband’s coworkers. Olga is really excited to start learning and gaining her confidence back after having been out of work for some time and to be more in contact with people. Her plan is to learn as much as she can and start her own business.

Olga loves to cook, and her favorite baked good is cornbread casserole.
