Monica is from Las Vegas, NV. Having joined the Air Force after high school, Monica’s service provided opportunities to serve in the Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and Air National Guard, and she is now choosing to retire after 24 years of service. Her military career started as an Aeromedical Evacuation Manager, Recruiting and Retention Manager, and at last, departing the National Guard Bureau as the Northwest Sector Senior Leader for In-Service Recruiting. Continuing to serve is the mission, but Monica is about developing future leaders through community, collaboration, with innovative thinking. She is earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration for Human Resource Management from Western Governors University.
She learned about the Dog Tag Fellowship Program through a LinkedIn connection. She applied because she was impressed by its holistic approach, combining education, hands-on experience, and wellness programs. As she transitioned from military to civilian life, this provided a tactical pause to embrace future goals and passions.
What she hopes to gain is knowledge in the business and entrepreneurship realms. She aims to develop her leadership abilities further, acquire business acumen, and strengthen her network. Monica was destined to live life with an irresistible flair fueled by the magnetic energy of the Entertainment Capital of the World. With the Dog Tag program she hopes for clarity in her vision, dreams and goals.
Monica's favorite baked good is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
