Misty Leigh Motion

Misty Leigh Motion was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in Syracuse, NY.  She returned to Georgia after high school, earning a BS in psychology from Kennesaw State University and a Masters in education in counseling from the University of West Georgia. She currently lives with her husband in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC.

Misty began her career as a teacher before transitioning into school counseling. She was working at an elementary school in Pensacola, FL when she met her husband, a Coast Guard aviator. They soon left for Puerto Rico and moved numerous times since, before landing in Washington, DC. She was recently appointed to the Currently Serving Spouses Council with MOAA and enjoys volunteering with Honor Flight DCA. 

 She discovered Dog Tag Bakery through a volunteer event and fell in love with their mission. After learning more about the fellowship she decided to seize the opportunity to gain hands on experience in starting a business, something she's always been interested in doing. Misty is excited to experience all the different components that the fellowship offers. 

 Her favorite bakery item is a snickerdoodle cookie enjoyed with a mocha.
