Mark Tate

Mark E. Tate grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina and graduated from Gettys D. Broome High School. Mark received his BS from Auburn University and was commissioned in the Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. Mark served in the Air Force for over 27 years in a variety of logistics related roles.

Mark learned about Dog Tag over five years ago through his spouse’s chance encounter with an alumnus of the Dog Tag Fellowship Program. Sensing that the time was right for a change and with encouragement from his spouse, Mark applied to the fellowship program approximately one year after retiring from active duty. Mark hopes to improve his well-being and gain a greater understanding of how a successful business operates. He is looking forward to leveraging his experiences in the Dog Tag Fellowship Program to open a successful, family run business in the Northern Virginia area. Mark’s favorite baked goods are brownies and fruit-filled hand pies.
