Mark Schek

Mark Schek, who grew up in the DC suburbs, received his culinary degree from the Culinary Institute of America. He joined Dog Tag in 2021 as sous chef, excited about the opportunity to work in a scratch bakery, and to help support veterans and military families. He had previously frequented the bakery as a customer, enjoying the yummy sandwiches and bread loaves, and decided to apply to join the team in order to learn more about the bakery business. Mark is a valuable addition to the team, and endeavors to make a consistent product, come up with creative menu ideas, and maintain an organized kitchen. In his off time, he enjoys teaching himself guitar and gardening—and he also loves traveling to new places.

His favorite baked good is anything with strawberries!
