Lizette De La Paz is a native of the Bronx, New York. She attended Albany State University, where she majored in Business Administration. She later transferred to the University of Bellevue where she received her BA in Human and Social Services Administration. Lizette is married to her high school sweetheart, who is an Army veteran. She has four children and 3 grandchildren.
In 1997, Lizette joined the Air Force as a mental health technician and substance abuse counselor. She moved on to serve in multiple leadership roles to include Superintendent of the mental health clinic, Education & Training Manager, and Squadron Superintendent. During her time in the Air Force, she deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. Lizette retired in 2017 after serving 20 years in the Air Force.
Lizette first heard about the Dog Tag Fellowship Program through the Wounded Warrior Project. Lizette is excited to attend the program for the opportunity to learn about the business world and gain a foundation in entrepreneurship. She hopes to gain the skills to own a business and work alongside her daughter who has a business consultation service.
