LaSheda Brooks

LaSheda S. Brooks, Esq. was born in Chicago, IL. During her teen years she moved to Plainfield, IL and gave birth to her daughter A’Mya. Directly following high school, LaSheda joined the United States Air Force Reserve as a maintenance scheduler. While continuing to serve, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Political Science and Criminology Certificate from Northern Illinois University. After graduation, she went on to obtain her law degree from DePaul University College of Law. After passing the Illinois Bar Exam, she transitioned from the Air Force to the United States Navy. She served 5 years as an active duty Judge Advocate General.

At the end of her tour, LaSheda had dreams of starting a nonprofit and becoming an entrepreneur. Completing her 13 years of service, she chose to chase her new dreams. During her Boots 2 Business transition course, she learned about Dog Tag. Immediately she applied to the program seeking guidance on how to build a nonprofit and a business. She plans on gaining education, skills and creating a new network.

Her favorite dessert is non-dairy strawberry shortcake.
