LaShawnda Pringle

LaShawnda Pringle is a U.S. Army veteran and medically retired service member, originally from Detroit, Michigan, and now based in Fort Worth, Texas. She served as a Food Service Specialist from 2001 to 2007, with experience in both the U.S. Army and the Texas Army National Guard. LaShawnda’s military career taught her the value of service, adaptability, and community, which continue to shape her life’s work.

She earned her Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Urban and Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. Her academic focus has centered on community systems, advocacy, and creating access for underserved populations.

LaShawnda learned about the Dog Tag Fellowship through the Wounded Warrior Project and felt called to apply after realizing how closely the program’s mission aligned with her own vision of creating sustainable, impact-driven ventures. She hopes to gain the practical tools, strategic insights, and support network to bring her business ideas to life and create long-term impact for families in need.

Her favorite baked good is the classic chocolate chip cookie—simple, timeless, and full of warmth.
