Lacey is from Atlanta, Georgia. She attended the University of North Georgia where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Lacey has plans to further her education in psychology in the near future to acquire the Doctor of Psychology degree (PsyD).
In 2008, Lacey joined the United States Army as a 5th Generation Army Soldier. Lacey served on active duty for 4.5-years as a Unit Supply Sergeant for the 5th Squadron, 15th Cavalry Regiment. In 2013 Lacey received a medical retirement due to fracturing her hips six-weeks postpartum on a unit ruck march.
Since retiring, Mrs. Taylor has continued to serve her community in various ways: through The Melanated Homemaking University and monthly Baking Bread with Lacey classes. As a 3-year business owner, Lacey felt like a dog chasing its tail when it came to business affairs. She knew she needed something more, but didn’t quite know what. After hiring a business coach in 2021, she knew she was destined for greatness. When she read about the Dog Tag Fellowship Program opportunity through the Wounded Warrior Project’s Post newsletter, she knew that this opportunity would add immense value to not only her business, but personal growth and development as well.
Through the Dog Tag Fellowship Program, Lacey is looking forward to gaining the knowledge she needs to further building her family legacy through their vegan bread bakery (ZEA Bread). Developing a greater comprehension of business and all that it entails will not only help Lacey today, but her future generations of vegan bread bakers to follow her.
Lacey’s favorite baked goods are her very own dinner bread recipe called “Muva’s Sweet Rolls” and her vegan cinnamon rolls.
