Kimberly S. H. Turner is military brat; born in Chicago, Ilinois en route to Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, WDC. Nonetheless, a native of Washington DC, and more specifically, inclusively raised in Washington D.C., and Riverdale, Maryland (MD). She graduated from Northwestern High School, Hyattsville, MD, received a BA degree from University Maryland, University College, College Park, MD and an MBA degree from Central Michigan University. Military affiliation, retiree United States Air Force.
Throughout the course of 34 plus years in the U.S. Air Force; she had the pleasure of being trained and executing duties in the following Air Force Specialty Codes: Inventory Management Specialist, Supply System Analyst, Education and Training Superintendent, Personnel Superintendent, Mission Support Group Superintendent, and concluded my career as the Wing Command Chief. Additionally, she served and executed duties as an EEO Represented and Enlisted Professional Military Education Facilitator.
Those who change the world show up! Believe it or not, that's what she read between the lines, when researching the Dog Tag program. She wanted to be a part of that experience. Additionally, if there is a non-profit agency willing to support veterans, she wanted to take plunge to learn and experience what the Dog Tag cohort had to offer. Furthermore, she believes if you continue to wait for the "right time", you'll waste your entire life, and nothing will happen. Overall, staying the same sucks, growing sucks too, but you must decide which you’d rather experience.
Through the Dog Tag Fellowship Program, Kimberly hopes to expand her horizons and explore new career options. She asked herself what does the world need, what makes her come alive. Readied with her impassioned answer, she made the decision to win the battle in her mind and pursue her dream! Bottomline, what the world needs is people who have come alive. For the most part, an idea is nothing unless you execute on it. The Universe will never run out of fresh starts to give you!
Kimberly's favorite baked goods are brownies, or apple and blueberry pie.
