Kiafa Grigsby was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He enlisted in the US Army in 1997 as a Combat Medic/Medical Specialist. During his 21 year military career he had seven duty assignments, two overseas tours, and several residential professional development courses.
He also deployed to Iraq as a Military Transition Member and to Afghanistan as a Platoon Sergeant. During his time in service, he held several positions of responsibility including Department of Emergency Medicine Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC), Troop Command Operations NCOIC, and Senior Enlisted Leader of an OBGYN Department.
Kiafa is excited for the opportunity the Dog Tag Fellowship Program will provide him to utilize the leadership skills and core competencies he developed during his military career. His goal is to develop business skills and gain business experience. His vision of a successful business is one that allows for autonomy, impact and fulfillment through purpose.
Kiafa’s favorite baked good is currant rolls.
