Karlee Read grew up in the city of Roseville, California. She wanted to join the military since beginning high school, so after graduating she enlisted in the United States Air Force. After basic military training and technical training for the role of F-16 crew chief, she moved overseas for an assignment in Misawa, Japan. She performed many jobs as a crew chief, from fixing F-16 aircraft parts to assisting transient aircraft that came to Misawa Air Base.

While in Japan, Karlee had several milestones. She completed an associates degree in applied sciences online, married her now active-duty husband, and finished her service commitment. She was looking for a new opportunity since becoming a veteran and military spouse, so she applied for the Dog Tag Fellowship Program after reading about it online. Shortly after, she moved with her husband to their new base in Colorado.

Karlee, now settled at her new place in Colorado, is a new fellow of the Dog Tag Fellowship Program. She hopes to learn new skills and knowledge while in the program. Also, she looks forward to forming connections with others in the program. Her favorite baked good is any cupcake with cream cheese frosting.
