Marine Corps Spouse
Karen Maduka
Karen Maduka is from Woodbridge, Virginia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Marymount University and built a fulfilling career as a systems engineer. She is the spouse of a retired U.S. Marine and has supported her family through the demands and transitions of military life.
While Karen’s professional path has been rewarding, entrepreneurship has always been a quiet but persistent dream. She envisions creating a welcoming business rooted in connection and community—a place where people feel at home and supported. Without a clear roadmap, that dream remained just out of reach until she discovered Dog Tag. The Fellowship stood out as a natural next step, offering the structure, mentorship, and values-driven community needed to turn her vision into action.
Through Dog Tag, Karen hopes to gain practical entrepreneurial skills, confidence, and guidance to launch and sustain a purpose-driven business. She is equally excited to learn alongside a cohort of fellow military-connected entrepreneurs and to contribute her own perspective and experience.
Her favorite baked good is an almond croissant—for its buttery layers, nutty sweetness, and contrast between its crisp exterior and soft interior.
