Kala Rachal

Kala Rachal, MPH, CPH, CHES®, RYT-200, is a New Orleans native that recently relocated to Chicago to further develop her skills and pursue her dreams of becoming a business owner. She served in the Army for four years, deploying to South Korea and Afghanistan (OEF) as patient administration specialist.

After Kala’s military career, she went on to complete her Undergraduate degree (Dillard University) in Public Health and her Master’s degree (Tulane University) in International Health in Development with a certificate in Disaster Management, and is currently completing an Executive Certificate (Georgetown University) in Leadership Coaching.

Kala has centered her personal and professional focus on meeting communities where they are and supporting communities based on needs. She has dedicated herself to working with underserved populations both domestically and internationally in various sectors of public health and providing trauma-informed care. Kala stumbled upon Dog Tag in her search for professional development and connection with like-minded individuals. After researching, interviewing, and speaking with peers she felt a familiar connection and decided to apply. Kala hopes to expand her professional network, enhance her skill set, and grow as an entrepreneur.

Her favorite baked food is peach cobbler.
