Chief Executive Officer

Henry Stoever

Henry Stoever is the CEO of Dog Tag. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, is a veteran Marine, and a business leader with a proven record of delivering results that exceed stakeholders’ expectations. His leadership style fosters growth and impact by combining mission-driven purpose, private-sector experience, and military leadership to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes. These qualities empower him to lead an organization dedicated to supporting veterans and military families.

Henry believes that veterans with service-connected disabilities, military spouses, and caregivers can serve as consequential thought partners in their communities. His role is to build on Dog Tag's successes and expand its impact. Henry has engaged with stakeholders to influence the Dog Tag 2.0 strategy.

Henry served as President and CEO of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB). In this role, he and his colleagues modernized the 100-year-old organization to significantly increase revenue, expand membership, and raise funds to support student success initiatives. Before joining AGB, he was the Chief Marketing Officer at the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). At NACD, he and his teams tripled revenue, grew membership, and launched the Battlefield to Boardroom program, which created meaningful pathways for veterans into corporate governance.

In his various leadership positions, Henry built impactful partnerships with organizations like PwC, AT&T, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education. He is a leader who knows how to align an organization's mission with the priorities of funders, policymakers, and corporate partners.

He holds a BS in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. His ongoing dedication to the veteran and military community is clear through his current board roles, including serving as a Trustee of the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation’s Athletic & Scholarship Programs and as a board member of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.

He looks forward to bringing this experience to empower Dog Tag's mission. While not at work, Henry enjoys spending time with his wife Glenn, their five grown children, and family. His favorite baked good is a slice of Dog Tag's apple pie!
