Evan Hansen is a Fairfax, VA native. He graduated from Falls Church High School and attended Northern Virginia Community College before enlisting as an Army paralegal in 2009. He deployed to Kuwait – where he received an appointment to West Point. In 2015, Evan graduated with a degree in civil engineering and commissioned as an Army Engineer. As an officer, Evan did an operational deployment to Korea and served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – including a FEMA relief role with Hurricane Maria/Irma recovery in Puerto Rico.
Evan has always had an entrepreneurial drive and heard about Dog Tag Bakery as a transition-from-service education opportunity. He sees this fellowship as a great chance to buttress his leadership and project management skills with practical business knowledge. Evan hopes to develop a business framework that will integrate into the community and provide opportunity to the underprivileged and marginalized. Evan also hopes to learn more about himself and the direction he wants to take his life as he transitions from military service.
Evan’s favorite sweet baked good is sweet potato pie or snickerdoodle cookies and is also a big fan of savory bakes.
