Danielle Verbiest

Danielle believes in empowering and inspiring people to discover and pursue their life’s purpose. Her strong commitment to social responsibility is rooted in a family tradition of service and community involvement. As the proud daughter of a Royal Netherlands Navy veteran and sister of a Royal Netherlands Army veteran, she embodies the values of leadership, empathy, and public service. Her diverse experiences have fueled her dedication to making a positive impact, which she integrates into every aspect of her life. The innovative social enterprise model and core values of service, entrepreneurship, empowerment, and respect are what drew her to Dog Tag.

As Chief Operating Officer, Danielle leads the day-to-day management of Dog Tag’s team, operations, and finances. As a member of the senior leadership team, she contributes to critical decisions shaping the organization’s strategy, people, programs, and partnerships.

Danielle is committed to striving for excellence by cultivating a workplace culture that values integrity, inclusivity, equity, and teamwork; bringing a curious and solution-oriented mindset; driving strategy and innovation; ensuring strong financial planning and reporting; focusing on impact and sustainability; and building capacity and best practices in support of Dog Tag’s mission and community.

Drawing from her 20+ years of nonprofit and for-profit experience, Danielle specializes in building systems and infrastructure to enhance organizational impact and sustainability. She brings expertise in operations management, strategy and capacity building, process and policy development, program design and evaluation, financial oversight, resource development, and stakeholder engagement within organizations dedicated to education and workforce development. Danielle holds a BA in Oriental Languages and Communication from Hogeschool Zuyd and an MA in International Non-Governmental Organizations from Webster University Leiden.

Outside of work, Danielle finds joy in spending time with family and friends, exploring local farmers’ markets, browsing vintage shops, attending shows and theater performances, listening to music and podcasts, and traveling.

Danielle’s favorite baked good is a freshly baked baguette with Gouda cheese.
