Navy Veteran

Beth McNeill

Beth M. Marrero McNeill is originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She grew up as a US ARMY brat and moved around the United States before settling in New Jersey. She attended Monmouth University and majored in Biology.

Although her initial plan was to become a veterinarian, she followed her lifelong dream of joining the United States Navy as an Intelligence Specialist (IS) in 2004. Beth served in various parts of the world, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Asia-Pacific, aboard USS ESSEX, USS GEORGE WASHINGTON, USS RONALD REAGAN, and USS PELELIU. She also worked as the National Capital Region Funeral Honors Coordinator and assistant for Naval District Washington's Commandant. As she approaches retirement, Beth completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Liberal Arts and a Certificate in Organizational Leadership at Thomas Edison State University. She plans to pursue a Master’s of Science in Management.

After retirement, she looks forward to spending quality time with her wife (Tiffany), daughter (Aria), and dog (Miles Davis). Her hobbies include traveling, going to the beach, hiking, gardening, painting, and dancing salsa. Beth learned about the Dog Tag Fellowship through her career liaison with the Navy Wounded Warrior program. After researching the program and discussing it with her wife, she decided to apply. She is excited about working with others to develop ideas that encourage healthier lifestyles in communities.

Beth's favorite baked good is the vanilla-frosted donut.
