America Cordova was born and raised in Orange County, California and currently resides in Apple Valley, California. She has earned certifications in Early Childhood Education, Banking & Finance, Data Entry, Basic Guard & Advanced Guard, Religious Education, and Theology. America volunteered and worked at the church she attended throughout her childhood and her adult life.
In 2009, her life began to take her in a different direction. America became less involved in volunteer work as she was no longer able to commit. She also began working fewer hours at work, and ended up changing employers and working several positions. In 2012, she made the difficult decision to leave her employment and become a full-time caregiver to her Army veteran family member who had served 26 years for his country.
America has taken advantage of military caregiver workshops with Wounded Warrior Project, which is where she learned about the Dog Tag Fellowship Program. She is excited for the educational opportunities and professional development the program has to offer. It has been a dream of hers to be a small business owner. She is motivated and positive that with her previous work experience and new skills attained from the program, she can achieve her goals.
Sweets are kryptonite for America. She likes them all, but her favorite is a chocolate cupcake.
