Class
Cohort 9
Jermaine was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He holds a B.S in Cybersecurity Studies from the University of Maryland University College. Jermaine retired after 21 years of Naval service as a Chief Petty Officer. His duties as an Information Systems Technician were to maintain Local Area Network infrastructure on shipboard and shore installations, manage secure satellite communication networks, and professional development of assigned junior personnel. Jermaine pursued the Dog Tag Fellowship Program because he saw it as a robust, challenging program that would give him a leg up in the real world. He was most excited about joining Dog Tag because of the program’s commitment to developing his skills as a well-rounded individual, ready to tackle the challenges facing him as a business owner or employee. These skills paid off post-graduation; Jermaine recently joined Accenture Federal Services as an Information Systems Security Manager. He is also enrolled in the US Cyber Veterans Cisco Training Program through Onward to Opportunity, working on his certification as a Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate. In his free time, Jermaine volunteers with his son's mentorship group, Mentor to Manhood, which celebrates and aids the achievement of Black youth.
