Zachary Kam was born and raised in Orange County, California. He went to Servite High School in Anaheim before joining the Marine Corps. He served four years as a Combat Engineer stationed in 29 Palms, California. He did two tours to Afghanistan, mostly dealing with IED removal, both mounted and on foot, while also constructing and maintaining infrastructure for bases and outposts in his area of operation.

After separation, Zack enrolled at Fullerton Community College where he received quality life experience both working as a Teacher’s Assistant and being able to spend a semester studying in London. He then transferred to UC Irvine, where he began but did not finish a degree in Literary Journalism.

Since then, Zack has pursued a lot of different avenues of interest, including singing live karaoke on Twitch. He recently moved to Chicago and would like take on a much bigger project by starting his own business. He came across the Dog Tag Fellowship Program while searching for resources for veteran entrepreneurs and is very excited to participate.

Zack has a massive sweet tooth and loves any sort of baked goods, but his favorite would have to be tiramisu.
