Ashley Hearn joined the Dog Tag team in November 2019 as the Program Manager. In this role, she manages the day-to-day operations of the fellowship program: supporting the fellows, coordinating with partners, and recruiting for future cohorts.
Ashley brings a variety of nonprofit experience to Dog Tag. As a program coordinator with It’s Time Texas, she developed programing to support obesity and chronic disease prevention throughout the state of Texas. As volunteer coordinator with CASA for Children DC, she oversaw the recruitment, training, and continuing education of volunteer advocates for young people in the DC child welfare system.
Having spent the last two years in the Austin, Texas heat, Ashley was very excited for the opportunity to return to DC. Her love of baking, combined with her passion for Dog Tag’s mission made this position the perfect fit.
Ashley holds a BA in International Relations from Brigham Young University and received her Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health from Washington University in St. Louis. On weekends she can be found curled up by the fireplace with a good book and her cat, Stella, or in the kitchen experimenting with a new recipe.
